Despite the end of the pandemic, remote work remains the norm in many companies and for more than 33% of employees, at an average rate of 2 days per week (source: JPG barometer).
As a result, remote communication and collaboration are crucial, as both involve mastering oral communication, especially during web-based meetings. Many employees have realized that improving their speaking skills is a priority for their success and professional development, as this soft skill also allows them to gain confidence and visibility. The feedback requests on this skill alone have increased by nearly 30 points in one year (14.89% to 43,23%).
For managers, 2 of these skills (oral communication and active listening) are also the main skills for which they have requested the most feedback in 2022.
In addition to the need to communicate well, we notice the need for managers to retain and engage their employees – with essential skills like team development or team spirit - in order to face the great resignation phenomenon.
